First we went to California pizza kitchen then we went to return some of mommy's things. Then we went to the book store. Since there were no Elsie Dinsmore or Scout books I picked out Biographies, my third favorite kind of book. I read a lot when I went to bed. I actually stayed up reading until 11:25pm. I read one whole biography. It was 192 pages on Davey Crockett. I read the book in 3 hours and 25 minutes which is also 205 minutes. The book had 192 pages. So 192 divided into 205 minutes means I read each page in almost 94 seconds. I am glad my dad took me on a date so I could get some new books.

6 Loaves of Bread

Today I made 6 Loaves of Zucchini bread. When Eric was invited to run in the Olympics on Sunday he said no because Sunday was the Lords day. This book has 392 pages! It took me a while to read because, I kept distracted by other books... like Prince Caspian and The Little Pilgrims Progress. MRS. PIGGLE - WIGGLE is very nice. In every story she cures people of weird and silly habits. MRS. PIGGLE - WIGGLE ,Herself ,The Radish Cure ,The Slow - Eater - Tiny - Bite - Taker Cure , The Whisperer. There is many more of them in the book.

My favorite one is The Answer- Backer Cure! Mrs. Piggle-Wiggles silly parrot Penelope copies the little girl, Mary, every time she talks back. God chose her to be Queen of Persia for the reason of saving her people, the Jews. I think Esther's idea to invite King Xeres to a banquet before telling him what Haman was plotting against her people was smart.
My favorite part of the play was when all the girls in the haram, who were there the contest of becoming Queen, started dancing and singing. A few of them even started fighting over who should become queen. Esther just sat quietly watching.
My other favorite part is when Haman had to honor Mordecai the Jew. He had wanted to kill him that day and the King decided to honor him instead. In the play two men dressed up in a horse custume and Mordecai rode on top wearing the King's best robe. Haman had to walk him through the streets proclaiming that this was the man the King wanted Honor!
It was really funny!
I also liked the costumes a lot. The ladies who made the dresses were really good at sewing!
There was also a orchestra of all home schooled kids. Most of them were playing violins and other string instruments.
After the play my mom and I went to a coffee shop. I got a cookie and some apple cider... yummy!!! I love going on dates with my mom.

Book Club

Today I went to a book club meeting for the first time. I did my book report on "Prince Caspian," the fourth book in "The Chronicles of Narnia," by C.S. Lewis. I choose this book b/c I made a deal with my mom that if I finish this book and a puzzle book she got me that goes with it, I would get to go on a date with her, my dad, and my little brother Austin to see the movie when it comes out in the Theatres.
Book Report:
It all starts out with Peter, Susan, Edmond and Lucy... the main characters in the "Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." They were going back to school, then when they got off the train
something started pulling them. They thought it was magic so they held hands and they were not at the train station anymore. Instead they were on an island. They did not know it at first because they were in very thick trees. Then Lucy saw an apple tree but didn't want to eat the sandwiches their mom had packed for them. So they went toward the apple tree; when they got there they found out that right next to it was the ruins of Cair Paravel. They were back in Narnia.
By now it was getting dark and cold. Peter and Edmond went out and got fire wood. Susan went to the well and came back with something shinny. When the fire was made Susan showed that it was a golden chess piece that she and Lucy played with when they were Kings and Queens in Narnia. This is were the adventure begins.
My favorite part is when Aslan makes a door to the real world for the mean soldiers of Miraz. So that they can go to the real world where they belong. Peter, Susan, Edmond, and Lucy make it home by going through the door and end up back in the train station. Edmond leaves his new torch in Narnia.

<img class="productDetailImage" onclick="window.open('/media/images/product/large/0061231088.jpg', 'LargerImage', 'width=400, height=600, scrollbars=yes, resizable=yes, toolbar=no, menubar=no, status=no');return false" src="http://www.zondervan.com/images/product/medium/0061231088.jpg" alt="Click to see a larger image of The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Puzzle Book by C. I like it because Christen still believed that Callestal City really did exist when all the boys in town laughed, doubted, and mocked him saying, you can't believe that those tales are true. He stood up for what he believed in.

I learned that you need to stand up for what is right. If you obey your guide, you will be safe. My guide are God and my mom and dad. I also learned not to be lazy, because it is sinful. The lazy in the book got punished. You will have to read the book to find out what happens to him.

There was a lot of symbolism in the book, kind of like "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe", another one of my favorite books. the King was supposed to be like God, the bright ones were like angels, the Callestal City was like Heaven, the wicked prince is like satan, the servants are like demons, the prince's castle is like Hell and the town that was blocking the way to King was like sin. Christen is maybe ten years old, which is very young to be traveling alone. His friend Faithful was killed and the white ones that were flying up in the air took Faithful to Callestal City. Christen had to pass through a lot of temptations like when he went to the Valley of Peace and the Dark Valley.

The Little Pilgrim's Progress is one of the best books I have ever read because it has a lot of lessons for you to learn, a lot of adventure, and it keeps interested!

My Chicks and Me

This is me and one of my chicks. I got them two weeks ago. The second day half of our chicks got clogged vents so my mom and I stayed up until ten O'clock cleaning them up. I felt like a chicken vet. It was pretty grouse at first but then you get used to it. Yesterday we figured out one of the chicks is a rooster! I'm excited because that means next spring we might have baby chicks again.

They are getting better at flying up. They will have to move out to the hen house very soon. My dad said this weekend we can put up the chicken fence to keep Moses, our puppy, out.

"The Beaded Moccasins"

My Gramma Sarah brought me a new book to read last week called "The Beaded Moccasins" by Lynda Durrant. I like it because it is godly and a true story about an eleven year old girl named Mary. On her 12 th Birthday, she gets taken away by Indians to be the new grandaughter to Netawatwees, the chief of the Delaware Indians.

I also like the book because she learns the lesson about not being selfish and to be thankful for what she has. She helps the Indians in saving their corn. She used her bare fingers, working the hardest. Everybody else used shovels.

The beaded moccasins belonged to the real grandaughter of Netawatwees. When she died and they captured Mary Caroline Campbell, the beaded moccasins were given to her by Hepte her new mom.

I think that any kids who like reading the Little House Series Books would like this book. We have not done that yet but I am excited to try.

I Love Baking Bread

I love baking bread because when I stir it, it makes my hands stronger. I have been planning what I am going to plant. In the garden box my mom gave me I am going to plant parsley, peppermint, and carrots.

My dad is letting me have some land to plant corn, pumpkins and potatoes. I know its going to be a lot of work because it is a little ways away from the house so I will have to carry my buckets of water every day and night during the summer.

I have been reading a garden book called "The Vegetable Gardeners Bible." I like how the book tells you how to take care of your garden easily. The book is easy to read and has good pictures.

For carrots it says that if you want to grow good you should thin them out and not put them too close together or they will curl around each other. That is what happened to us 2 years ago.

When I plant my sweet corn I learned that I shouldn't peek at them to see if they are ready to be picked. Instead of peeking at them you should wait until the silk is brown and dry.

I am real excited about planting potatoes because we have never done that before. The book says there are different kinds of potatoes, a rainbow of potatoes. Right now I am trying to figure out what kind I should grow.

"Cooking Fun"

I like cooking because it's really active and it makes people happy.
